Building On Hope

The Building Begins

On Thursday April 29, the reconstruction of the White House Intensive Residential Treatment Facility of Easter Seals NH begins. Building will continue until the Sunday May 16 community celebration where everyone who has helped make this dream come true is invited for food, fun and music.

More than 100 local businesses have offered their products and services to make this project possible. A guide to them all and a story on the project will appear in the July 2010 issue of New Hampshire Magazine.

Volunteers are still needed for the two weeks of building. Ideal volunteers are skilled construction workers and but there are a variety of tasks for just about anyone willing to help.

Learn About an Inspiring New Community Building Initiative!

Building on Hope is a network of community-minded citizens working to raise awareness for non-profit organizations in need by providing structural and esthetic improvements to facilities used to serve the community.

Every two years, Building on Hope takes on a new challenge and their current project kicks off this month - the White House Intensive Residential Treatment Facility, an Easter Seals New Hampshire facility.

The White House was built in the 1930s as a single-family residence and is now home to five boys who, for any number of reasons, cannot live with their families. Currently, the home is in need of numerous physical repairs – from kitchen upgrades to insulation and heating improvements. The work to enhance the living quarters for these young men is about to commence…

2010 Project Dates:

April 30: Building on Hope Proclamation (time TBD)
May 1: Construction Begins
May 16: Completion Celebration from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
June 6: The remodeled Easter Seals home is a featured stop on the Palace Theatre Kitchen Tour.

All the above events take place at 9 Mammoth Road, Manchester, NH.
